Album was planned to be a yearly book series. The first book was released in November 2009, and I'm thinking the second will more likely be ready for November 2011 rather than 2010. I'm currently working on the second All Over Coffee collection and my head is filled with that. And, well, a year goes by fast.
I have this desire for tidy packages, and I've always loved records for being just that. To write a batch of songs and release an album feels like a neat and orderly way to chronicle one's ideas and work and I wanted to create a series where I can see a new and different body of pieces through a complete process then walk away. I currently do two series, All Over Coffee and Small Potatoes, and with those, I find myself refining and honing writing and drawing styles, whereas with Album, I can work to find something new with each book.
